The Corporate Sector of a country consists of various types of companies grouped together in various categories based on their common characteristics. Thes number of companies in each category depend on the economic structure of that country. For example, an agriculture based country may have more fertilizer, food production, agriculture machinary based companies. On the other hand a service industry oriented economy may have more banks, IT firms, legal firms, investment companies etc. Similarly and industrialized country may have factories and plants.
As the Economic Structure
of a country changes , the structure of corporate sector also changes. Number of companies in one category increase while companies in another category start decreasing through mergers and dissolution. Here we intend to look at history of formation of companies in various categories in Pakistan and try to understand where our economy is heading to.
